Hello Girls Water Polo Team,

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Just a reminder that we still have 11 spots to fill for the snack bar, including 2 for this coming Thursday. If you haven't done so already, just follow the link and it will take you to the page to sign up to work.

Also, if you haven't sent in your $25 for the snack bar donation, please turn it in to Allie or Nicole at practice/games/school this week. I will be doing the shopping for the snack bar on Tuesday and hopefully we can be fully stocked for Thursday's game. If it would be easier, you could also mail it to me at 1 Tiempo, Irvine, 92620.

Northwood Water Polo Club High School Boys

Will begin off season training, Monday December 7, 2009.

PRACTICE TIMES:

MON-THURS

FS/JV: 6pm-7:30pm w/ Coach Drew Vyn

VARSITY: 7:30PM-9PM w/ Coach Steve Carrera

WEIGHTS WILL BE ON TUESDAY/THURSDAY FROM 7PM-8PM (We will be getting in the water after weights until 9pm)

We will be implementing a weight training program with Juggernaut Training Systems. Their personal trainers will be coming to our Northwood facilities.


The cost will be

$275 for 12 weeks with an additional cost of $75 a month for weight training.

Weights will be mandatory for Varsity and open to F/S JV.

No morning workout for the girls team Monday 11/30/09.

Varsity girls will have 2 games Monday afternoon/evening @ Magnolia HS

F/S JV will have afternoon workout @ Northwood

Monday Games

Varsity will play at 3:50pm for our 1st game.

If we win we play at 5:30pm

If we lose we play at 7:10pm

Wednesday November 25, 2009 we will practice at 6am-7:30am. No afternoon workout.

Girls Snack Bar Sign Ups

A message from Mrs. Flath:

Hello Water Polo Girls and Parents,

Can you believe we are already in season?! Our first game will soon be here!

Please find attached a schedule of Home games and Snack Bar sign-up times. For Season and League games we will need two parents for each shift, and for the JV Tournament we will need at least one parent for each shift and Ed will assign the girls times to work as well. I will need a JV parent to help me out with snack bar for home games held at the same time as away Varsity games. Please let me know if you are available :-)

Also, we will continue the tradition of a Pasta Party the Tuesday before Wednesday League games, immediately following practice. There is a schedule attached for that as well if you would like to host one. They are a lot of fun, and the girls really enjoy getting together like this.

Lastly, please send in your $25 snack bar donation this week, no later than Wednesday. The girls can give the money to Allie or Nicole at practice.

Boys Varsity Water Polo

Boys team will practice MTW 11/23-11/25 this week from 2pm-3:30pm. Please spread the word. We may be in a state tournament so we want to be prepared. This goes for seniors as well.

Girls Parent Meeting

We will have a parent meeting at the Northwood pool on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 6pm.

Parents please bring a snack bar donation of $25 dollars to the meeting.

Mrs. Flath is organizing the snack bar and Mrs. Dillard is organizing the apparel.

Girls Practice as of Monday Nov 16

Starting this Monday, November 16, 2009.

Practice will be from:

6am-7:30am Weights/Pool MTTh

2pm to 4:30pm Pool M-F

Practice is mandatory.

Missing practice will result in 50x100yd freestyle. No exceptions.

Boys Northwood CIF 1st Round

The boys Varsity and players (frosh soph/JV) will leave the school at 11:30am from Northwood High School to Buena High School. The game is against Ventura at 3:15pm.

UCI vs CONCORDIA Sunday at UCI

Ryan Freerks (Concordia Water Polo) will be coming by the pool today to sell tickets for the UCI vs CONCORDIA game on Sunday Nov 8, 2009@ UCI. If you buy from him it's $5, at the door it will be $8. I suggest everyone going it will be a great to watch the game played at a very high level.

Boys Water Polo for FS/JV

We will continue to meet at 2pm everyday and get in the water until CIF is over with. All players will travel with the team on away games and all players will attend home games.

Varsity-The brackets come out Sunday Morning.
